Abstract
- The publication presents several papers delivered at the Thoreau Centennial meetings on May 5 and 6, 1962. One paper examined Henry David Thoreau's conception of character and how he reworked his books while having character development as only secondary to theme. Another paper focused on Thoreau as a literary stylist and his use of imagery and figurative language. Another focused on his friendship with Robert Frost.
