Abstract
- The article presents an encyclopedia entry for philosopher James Orr of Glasgow, Scotland. Orr's philosophy finds affinity with John Veitch's common sense philosophy. Aside from Veitch, Orr was influenced by Sir William Hamilton, in conceding that certain feelings or sensations belong to the subjective side of knowledge. Orr used Hegelian idealism explaining the role of the unconscious reason. In "The Christian View," He also stated that Christian faith can be use to interpret existence.
