Abstract

The paper describes the ADAMS model of a brake disc mechanism and its validation against the conventional hardware. ADAMS is one of the most known and widespread program complexes in the world for the dynamical and kinematical analysis of mechanical systems. A mechanical systems simulation is used in the paper for the forecast of a full dynamic behavior of the complex brake unit system having a lot of cooperating with each other parts. Such approach can be used, for example, for the interaction analysis of a design elements, an estimation of a vibration level, a loading definition on components of mechanical system. Nowadays intensive investigations are carried out on problems of interaction of active safety systems with brake system equipment. The special place is occupied here with creation of new brake gear design which should possess except for reliability and durability such important for active safety systems properties as minimal hysteresis losses and the high response time, which are of importance for active safety systems. The paper gives some important aspects of this problem regarding to the complex brake gear design as applied to the heavy vehicles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
