Abstract

The article discusses the characteristics of good public librarians, particularly those who work for Vigo County Public Library in Terre Haute, Indiana. The diverse culture of the city creates different opportunities for librarians to respond to different kind of assignments. Librarians should show positive attitude toward students coming from private schools because the goal of a public library is to serve the public, whoever they might be.
