Abstract

The article focuses on the data released from the 2005 Science National Assessment of Educational Progress Trial Urban District Assessment (TUDA) show, stating that low achievement among minority and disadvantaged exists in all U.S. school settings. An analysis of the performance of fourth and eighth grade African American students in TUDA districts is presented. The panelists emphasized that minority and disadvantaged students fall behind their white or wealthier peers in schools.
