Abstract

Chapter 5 of the book "Handbook of Precision Farming: Principles and Applications" is presented. This chapter focused on precision water management. Precision water management, also known as site-specific water management, is defined as the application of water to a given site in a volume and at a time required for optimum crop production, profitability or other management objectives at that specific site. A chart is presented that summarizes the characteristics of precision irrigation systems developed by different groups across the U.S.
