Abstract

This article focuses on the impact of 2016 Olympics on the economy of Chicago, Illinois. The Regional Economics Applications Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign estimates that the games could pump $5 billion into the regional economy. According to preliminary estimates, 81,490 new jobs could also be created.
