Abstract

This chapter identifies significant differences in male/female affect and behavior in small groups and examines the impact of these differences on small group processes. The author also demonstrates how the group facilitator may apply this knowledge of gender diversity to enhance both the individual experience within the group and the group process as a whole. These objectives will be accomplished by assessing different components of gender-related issues, responses, and diversity. There will also be an examination of the nature of gender diversity through the development of a matrix that compares and contrasts female and male differences.
