Abstract

The article discusses the class activity which aims to develop a knowledge of history and oratorical writing. In this activity, each member was ordered to select the topic on which she thought she could write best and present it to the whole class for criticism. Then the paper is to undergo some revision, and embody their substance in language adapted to public speaking in the simplest way comprehensible to the children. One of the papers presented tackled about the Emancipation Proclamation. Abraham Lincoln's childhood experiences, the hardship and poverty he had encountered all the way to being the president of the U.S. has been well-explained. Though the original was somewhat obscure considering the syntax, it was presented in a manner leveled to the knowledge of the children.
