Abstract

The article discusses the emergence of womanhood and domesticity as a subject in Victorian literature. The author made mention on several women authors who have made women as a key subject of their literary exploits. To elaborate the discussion, the author cited the literary work "The Yellow Paper," by Charlotte Perkins Gilman where she narrates the medical practices and the political policies that have kept women out of their professions and their political rights.
