Learning Tools for Knowledge Nomands: Using Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) in Web - Based Learning Environments.

The article presents information on the importance of wireless computing technology in the field of education in the United States. The field of mobile computing is one of the fastest growing industries in the U.S. Rapid changes have taken place in both soft and hard technologies, in the past few years. Since the early 1980s, the idea of a structured learning environment, in which learning could occur outside the boundaries of time and space, has been pursued in the field of distance education. A survey by the American Society for Training and Development showed the fact that over fifty percent of universities in the United States are providing some form of Web-based online courses. According to many researchers, information literacy will increasingly become a main concern for educators, with the Internet being introduced into classrooms.
