This is an interview with Jeanne Emrich, editor of "Reeds," on the overall view of haiga in the West. Emrich was asked to describe the state of haiga, both in terms of general understanding and in regards to creative work. He also elaborated on the most intriguing aspects of haiga, referring to the relation of image to the words. Furthermore, Emrich illustrated haiga as a truly versatile form.
