Abstract

The article focuses on the production of methane during storage of municipal organic waste that is digested anaerobically. In Denmark, source-separated municipal organic waste is digested anaerobically. Municipal organic waste that is anaerobically digested can be a source of methane (CH<subscript>4</subscript>) emission. Methane emission has a role in global warming brought about by waste treatment system. A study is conducted to study the production of methane from the organic wastes. The measurement of temperature in storage tanks also provided information for the tests.
