The article discusses the results of an iSeries application-development research survey in which more than 900 iSeries professionals participated. The reasons behind the complaints raised by participants in the survey about end-user and business-application development requirements are discussed. Comments on the lack of training of information technology professionals involved in software configuration management are presented.
