User Participation in Development of AAC Technology.

The article focuses on the user participation in the development of augmentative and alternative communication technology in Europe. User centered design is a widely backed design approach, which assures that the developed technology will be usable and useful to the users. The group of disabled people-funded and developed a computer-based communication device for language-cognitive impaired people. The speech impaired users and their therapists took part actively the design process.
