Abstract: The article presents a study involving the initiation skills among current and potential augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) users in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The data were organized to reflect comparisons involving reporting condition, type of initiation, and AAC assessment results. The results showed several differences and trends in ratings produced by different subjects under conditions when reporting levels of initiation behavior.
