Abstract

This paper discusses the patient-therapist relationship by focusing in part on a personal perspective from an augmentative coomunication technology user, and also in part, by looking into the pragmatic implications of etiquette of speaking and conversations with augmentative communication technology. Special emphasis will be placed on key elements that affect the patient-therapist relationship and recommendations will be made as to how best to promote a constructive patient-therapist relationship. A secondary purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that a good sense of humor is essential to overcome the pitfalls in search of Augmentative Communication Technology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
