International Chemical Reference Substances and International Infrared Reference Spectra.

The article reports on International Chemical Reference Substances (ICRS) and International Infrared Reference Spectra. The ICRS are established on the recommendation of the World Health Organization Expert Committee on Specifications for Pharmaceutical Preparations. ICRS are primarily supplied for use in chemical and physical tests and assays described in the specifications for quality control of drugs published in The International Pharmacopoeia. These are mainly intended to be used as primary standards to calibrate secondary standards.
