Abstract

The article examines the testing limits of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale Picture Arrangement Subtest (PA). In a review of 397 WAIS records of mentally retarded, 11 percent and 26 percent did not complete PA because of patient resistance. Evidence of patient refusal, resistance and confusion were noted in 17 cases.
