Abstract
- The article reports that ten mining companies involved in diamond and base metal production will spend 2.6 million dollars for a research plan with the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Research Organization (CSIRO). The team-up between the mining companies and CSIRO will search for better ways to predict rock slope reliability for large open pit mines. Some of the companies include Anglo American Diamonds Ltd., Newcrest Mining Ltd., and Newmont Australia Ltd.
