Abstract
- This paper discusses the concepts of 're-entry' and 're-integration' for women prisoners leaving federal prisons in Canada. Data gathered from in depth interviews with previously incarcerated women will be used to examine what it means to transition from prison to the community. Foucault's concept of 'governmentality' and Roses (2000) notions of circuits of inclusion and excusion will be used to argue for a reconceptualization of correctional transition services and the process of 're-integration' of women back into their communities. Policy reccomendations that follow from this analysis will be discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
