Abstract
- This article reports that the wireless hotspot provider Cloud is rolling out extensive access zones across Great Britain. This spring, the company plans to roll out access in nine cities, and it estimates that the service will be within reach of some four million people. Last week, the company announced that in the first phase it will set up wireless zones in Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Oxford, Cambridge and three London boroughs, but other cities will also be added this year. The hotspots will be supported by hundreds of BT payphones fitted with Wi-Fi kit. Cloud does not offer services to the public itself, but users of wireless services from BT Openzone, O2, Nintendo or Skype Zones will be able to access its hotspots.
