Abstract
- The article reports on the preference of African Canadians and other minority youths for having medical care outside their neighborhood according to a study by the Black Health Alliance, York University in Toronto and geography professor Joseph Mensah in Scarborough, Ontario. The youth do not trust their health care system. The Wellesley Central Corp. offered a $10,000 grant for the study. Researcher Alex Lovell explains the reason behind the selection of Somali youth in the study. Racism affects the medical care scheme.
