Abstract

A conclusion to the book, Contextualizing Transition: Interviews with Contemporary Russian Writers & Critics, is presented. It discusses the subjectivities in Russian postmodern prose. These subjectivities might be explained partially by the fact that Russian society still reveres the ideals of the nuclear family and heterosexual identity. The author also features the ideology of prose writers Tatiana Tolstaia and Valeriia Narbikova of postmodern culture, which centered around the demise of objective truth. The author asserts that their representation of postmodern time and identity leave feminine subjectivity beyond history and reflection.
