Abstract
- A conclusion to the book, Contextualizing Transition: Interviews with Contemporary Russian Writers & Critics, is presented. It comments on the works by Russian authors. The issues raised by Vladimir Sorokin and Victor Erofeev in their writings are not new for Western postmodernism. They became clichés of postmodern art and turned into the objects of theoretical analysis. While critics Jean Baudrillard and Fredric Jameson provide a sophisticated analysis of postmodern art, they tend to lament the disappearance of the meaning or expressive substance that during the modernist era was still believed to exist.
