Abstract
- This chapter of the book Contextualizing Transition: Interviews with Contemporary Russian Writers & Critics presents an interview with critic Vladimir Sorokin about Russian literature in the 1990s. Sorokin is very interested in the problem of the body/text relationship. He works constantly with the border zones in which the body intrudes into the text. In addition, Sorokin believes that violence is a part of every literary avant-garde, including Surrealism. Meanwhile, he assesses a literary movement as a flexible and changeable process.
