The article describes an apartment that designer Libby Moulton helped decorate for her friend Clare Potter in Manhattan, New York City in time for the 2005 Christmas holidays. Potter, an accomplished artist, prefers silver balls and real candles on her pared-down tree. Moulton picked a gray-on-gray Colefax and Fowler wallpaper for the dining area, located in an expansive entry hall. Potter had quite a few fine antiques for Moulton to work with, like an 18th-century secretary. In a couple of cases re-covering was all that was needed for pieces.
