Abstract
- The article reports that a recent study by French and South African researchers may have major implications for the global AIDS epidemic. The study seems to confirm what scientists have long suspected: that circumcision cuts the risk of HIV infection dramatically, by as much as 60 percent. If the results of the study are corroborated by similar studies in Kenya and Uganda, circumcision could become a powerful weapon in the global fight against AIDS.
