Abstract
- The article discusses the migration and nationality policies in Argentina, Italy, and Spain from 1853-1919. The state plays a very important role in gendering migration and state membership processes through law and associated practices. Argentina, Italy, and Spain, from 1853-1919, were linked by migratory flows that were significant in magnitude. Immigration policies helped them in generating, regulating and shaping the composition of migration flows from abroad. Nationality policies were based on closure around nation-states' tangible and intangible goods.
