Abstract

The article presents information on the spreading of epidemic diseases and testing of drug users in China. The number of people who are infected with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is increasing in China. It is calculated that over a million persons are now infected with HIV. Intravenous drug use accounts for over 60 percent of infections. In the year 2002, it was calculated that China had almost 900,000 injecting drug users. The HIV epidemic among drug users threatens the spread of the disease to the lower risk population.
