Abstract
- Addresses the need to conduct blood tests on bulls used for breeding before mating to reduce cattle bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) in the national beef and dairy herds in New Zealand as of October 2005. Estimated dairy losses in BVD-infected herds; Information on BVD; Percentage of dairy and beef herds that are believed to be infected with BVD according to Veterinary Association spokesperson and Wangunui veterinarian John Pickering.
