Abstract

A study conducted at Jilin University in Changchun, People's Republic of China, explored the anti-biofilm mechanism of reuterin against Staphylococcus aureus on milk-contact material surfaces. Reuterin was found to effectively impede biofilm formation and bacterial adhesion activity, reducing biofilm biomass and bacterial hydrophobicity. The research concluded that reuterin shows promise as an anti-biofilm agent in the food industry, with potential applications on various surfaces. [Extracted from the article]
