Abstract

A study conducted at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand, compared the use of reduced-dose versus full-dose anticoagulants for the extended treatment of cancer-associated venous thromboembolism (VTE) in Thai patients. The research found that patients receiving reduced-dose anticoagulants had a higher risk of recurrent VTE but lower bleeding outcomes compared to those receiving full-dose anticoagulants. The study included 229 patients and concluded that older age and a history of previous bleeding were associated with the use of reduced-dose anticoagulants. [Extracted from the article]
