Abstract
- Researchers from Nanchang University have conducted a study on alcoholic fatty liver disease, focusing on the role of the adipokine Omentin-1 in preserving autophagy through the AMPKa/mTOR signaling pathway. The study involved feeding mice a high-fat diet to induce nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and treating them with Omentin-1, which resulted in reduced weight gain, improved glucose homeostasis, and decreased hepatic lipid accumulation. The research suggests that Omentin-1 could be a potential therapeutic agent for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by preserving autophagy through the AMPKa/mTOR pathway. [Extracted from the article]
