Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Sapienza University of Rome focused on atopic dermatitis, a chronic inflammatory skin disorder. The study compared protein expression in skin biopsies from patients with atopic dermatitis and found that proteins related to skin barrier maintenance and vitamin D metabolism were upregulated in affected skin regions. The findings suggest potential therapeutic targets for improving skin barrier function and overall disease severity in patients with atopic dermatitis. For more information, the full study can be accessed in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences. [Extracted from the article]
