Abstract

A recent pilot study conducted by the University of Pittsburgh explored the association between cognitive function and community walking in older cancer survivors. The study found that higher cognitive function, specifically executive function and processing speed, was correlated with better mobile metrics of walking, such as step count and peak cadence. The researchers suggest that understanding how cognitive function affects walking could help identify new rehabilitation targets for older cancer survivors. The study was peer-reviewed and published in the Journal of Geriatric Oncology. [Extracted from the article]
