Abstract
- Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania have conducted a narrative review on the role of Dolutegravir/lamivudine (DTG/3TC) in managing pregnant individuals living with HIV-1. While DTG/3TC has shown efficacy and safety in non-pregnant individuals, limited data exist on its use during pregnancy. However, recent studies suggest that DTG/3TC is comparably effective and well-tolerated during pregnancy, with no increased risk of neural tube defects and high virologic suppression rates. These findings may have implications for clinical practice and perinatal HIV treatment guidelines. [Extracted from the article]
