Abstract
- Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering have developed a method to modify lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to target specific cells, including neurons, and cross the blood-brain barrier. This advancement could lead to potential treatments for neurological diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. By using peptides as targeting molecules, the LNPs can deliver mRNA to the brain's endothelial cells and neurons, a crucial step in developing mRNA-based treatments for brain diseases.
