Abstract

A research study conducted at Link Campus University compared the outcomes of ACL reconstruction using allografts versus autografts in skeletally immature patients. The study found that children who undergo allograft ACL reconstruction show similar functional outcomes to those who undergo autograft ACL reconstruction. However, allografts may lead to greater laxity, reduced activity levels, and higher failure rates, making their use as a first-choice option for ACL reconstruction in young patients questionable. The study suggests that further research is needed in this area. [Extracted from the article]
