Abstract
- Researchers at People's Hospital Yichun City in Jiangxi, China, conducted a meta-analysis comparing bipolar transurethral enucleation of the prostate (B-TUEP) and holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The study included 14 studies with 2317 BPH patients and found that HoLEP had advantages in terms of catheterization time, urinary retention, hemoglobin drop, overall complications, and long-term functional outcomes. The research concluded that HoLEP may be more beneficial for BPH patients, especially for those with larger prostates. The study has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights into surgical approaches for BPH treatment. [Extracted from the article]
