Abstract

A study conducted by Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea, focused on developing a deep learning-based predictive model for improvement after holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) for male lower urinary tract symptoms/benign prostatic hyperplasia (LUTS/BPH). The study utilized a deep neural network (DNN) for multiclass classification to predict changes in maximum flow rate (MFR) and voiding efficiency (VE) post-surgery. Results showed that the DNN model outperformed other machine learning models in predicting symptom improvement, providing valuable insights for clinicians managing patients with LUTS/BPH.
