Abstract

A recent study conducted at Beijing Hospital compared the clinical efficacy and safety of the superpulse thulium fiber laser (SP TFL) and the holmium laser for ureteroscopic lithotripsy in treating upper urinary tract calculi. The research aimed to evaluate the stone-free rate, duration of surgery, postoperative hospital stay, and other outcomes in patients undergoing treatment with either laser. The study, registered with ChiCTR, concluded that the SP TFL shows potential as a substitute for the holmium laser in ureteroscopy. [Extracted from the article]
