Abstract
- A study conducted at Tongji University in Shanghai, China, explores the regulation of cell death pathways, specifically from ferroptosis to pyroptosis, for enhanced tumor immunotherapy. The research introduces an iron-based nanocatalytic medicine that effectively induces pyroptosis in cancer cells, leading to improved efficacy in eradicating tumors and stimulating immune responses. The findings suggest that pyroptosis induced by the nanomedicine offers a more powerful approach to tumor immunotherapy compared to ferroptosis, potentially leading to long-term immunotherapeutic outcomes. The study was funded by various organizations, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has been peer-reviewed for publication in the Journal of the American Chemical Society.
