Abstract

A study conducted at Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College in Karnataka, India, focused on the implications of the middle cranial fossa dural plate in identifying the mastoid antrum in patients with sclerotic mastoids and absent or rudimentary spine of Henle. The research found that addressing the antrum in these cases can be challenging, especially when dealing with anteriorly placed sigmoid sinus and low-lying or undulating dura. The study emphasized the importance of following the pinkish hue of the dural plate to minimize complications during surgical procedures. [Extracted from the article]
