Abstract

Research from Putian University in China focused on the immobilization of papain using a hydrophilic three-dimensional matrix constructed with nano-magnetic beads. The study optimized the immobilization conditions and found that the loading capacity of papain on the nano-magnetic beads could be modulated by the molecular weight of the grafted polyethyleneimine. The research concluded that the designed nanomagnetic sphere structure retained 80.35% of its relative enzyme activity even after five cycles of reuse, providing evidence for the efficient immobilization of papain.
