Abstract
- Researchers from the Affiliated Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital of Qingdao University in China conducted a study on hemodialysis patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) to investigate skin microbiota changes around catheter exit sites. The study found significant dysbiosis in the skin microbiota at exit sites compared to control sites, with an overrepresentation of Staphylococcus species. The researchers suggest that managing skin dysbiosis could be a promising approach to prevent catheter-related bacterial infections in ESRD patients. [Extracted from the article]
