Abstract

Researchers at Khon Kaen University conducted a study on biogas upgrading and acetic acid production using Clostridium thailandense supplemented with granular activated carbon (GAC) and L-arginine. The study found that adding 7.5 g/L GAC increased CH4 purity in biogas, leading to higher CO2 and H2 consumption efficiencies. The research identified hydrogenase genes and NADH-dependent ferredoxin-NADP+ oxidoreductase (Nfn) as crucial for enhancing biogas upgrading efficiency in C. thailandense. This study provides insights into optimizing sustainable biogas production through strategic GAC utilization. [Extracted from the article]
