Abstract
- Researchers from Akershus University Hospital conducted a study comparing Collagenase Clostridium histolyticum (CCH) and percutaneous needle fasciotomy (PNF) as treatments for Dupuytren disease. The study involved 80 patients with primary metacarpophalangeal joint contracture and found that both methods were equally effective in reducing contracture, but CCH provided longer-lasting correction. Patients in the PNF group had higher rates of recurrence and retreatment compared to the CCH group. The study concluded that both treatments were effective, with CCH showing better long-term results.
