Abstract
- A study conducted at California State University Long Beach explored the relationship between postural control and low back/pelvic girdle pain during and after pregnancy. The research found that decreased total sway and anterior/posterior sway range with eyes closed were significantly associated with higher pain disability scores during the third trimester. The study suggests that pregnant individuals with lumbopelvic pain may exhibit postural stability deficits, particularly without visual input, highlighting the importance of balance assessments and interventions for pregnant individuals experiencing pain.
