Abstract

Researchers at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine have reported a case of Salmonella typhimurium infection following lingual mucosa graft ureteroplasty in a 49-year-old Chinese female. The patient developed recurrent fever postoperatively, with bacterial cultures detecting Salmonella typhi and Escherichia coli. Aggressive antimicrobial therapy was successful in treating the infection, and the patient remained afebrile after the removal of the double-J stent. This case study provides insights into urinary tract infections in the context of autologous tissue transplantation for ureteral augmentation. [Extracted from the article]
